Rice Kheer – Rice Kheer Recipe – How To Make Rice Kheer

Many sweets and desserts are eaten and made in our country, but Rice Kheer is such a dessert that is made in every state. In most of the festivals or any occassions in India, Kheer is very important in the offerings of God often known as Bhog. It is also called Payasam in South India. There are different ways to make it. It requires rice, sugar, milk and nuts to make this delicious dessert. Chawal ki kheer is specially made on Sharad Purnima and Guru Purnima in our country and has special significance.

Milk Full Cream – 1kg

Sugar – 100 grams

Basmati rice – 100 grams

Cashews – 7-8 Badam chopped

Pistachios – 5-6 chopped

Saffron Leaf – 10 -12

Green cardamom – 4-5

How to make rice kheer

1. Firstly wash the rice thoroughly and soak it for 15 to 20 minutes.

2. Soak saffron leaves in two spoons of hot milkIn a separate bowl.

3. Now put milk in a heavy wide pan or saucepan or kadai and put it on the gas to boil.

4. When the milk comes to a boil, reduce the gas flame and let the milk boil for about 10 minutes.

5. After 10 minutes drain all the water from the rice and add it to the milk and turn the gas full.

6. Keep stirring the milk, when the milk comes to a boil, sim the gas.

7. Now allow the kheer to boil on a low flame, stir it occasionally or else the kheer will stick at the bottom of the pan.

8. When the rice starts cooking (become soft), add chopped nuts in it.

9. When the milk starts to thicken and the rice is completely cooked then add sugar to it.

10. After adding sugar, keep stirring the khir continuously, sugar will dissolve in 4 to 5 minutes.

11. Now mix saffron milk and cardamom in kheer and turn off the gas.

12. Your hot tasty Shahi Kheer is ready.

13. You can eat it hot or keep it in the fridge and enjoy your cold khir, because cold khir looks very tasty.

Suggestion

  • If you want to make kheer more delicious, then you can add one spoon of desi ghee in the end of making your Rice Khir.
  • After adding ghee, boil it on gas for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • To make rice khir, use heavy wide pan. It takes about an hour to make Kheer.
